Littelfuse unveils high-performance power MOSFETs for battery storage and power supply – Charged EVs

Industrial technology manufacturing company Littelfuse has expanded its range of Ultra Junction X4-Class 200 V Power MOSFETs with low on-state resistance for battery energy storage and power supply applications.

The IXTN400N20X4 and IXTN500N20X4 have around two times higher current ratings and a 63% RDS(on) reduction than existing X4-Class MOSFETs, according to the company, making them ideal for applications where minimizing on-state losses is essential. These include battery energy storage systems (BESS), battery chargers, battery formation, DC/battery load switch, and power supplies.

The high current ratings allow designers to replace multiple low-current-rated devices connected in parallel. The SOT-227B package has screw-mounted terminals that enable rugged and stable mounting.

The Ultra Junction X4-Class Power MOSFETs offer low conduction losses, minimized parallel connection effort, simplified driver design with minimal driver losses, simplified thermal design and increased power density.

The MOSFETs are available in 10 pieces per tube and samples can be requested through authorized Littelfuse distributors worldwide.

“The new devices will allow designers to replace multiple low-current rated devices, connected in parallel, with a single device solution,” said Sachin Shridhar Paradkar, Global Product Marketing Engineer at Littelfuse. “This simplifies gate driver design, improves reliability, improves power density and PCB space utilization.”
