Snap-E Cabs is dedicated to developing a diverse and inclusive workforce, transcending gender norms within the traditionally male-dominated field of transportation.

Snap-E Cabs, an on-demand, app-based fleet of 100% electric vehicles (EV), will increase the number of women cab drivers in its fleet.

The company is set to train and engage 30women drivers in the first batch and 50-60 in the second batch to take the overall count to about 100 in the next few months to foster women’s empowerment through employment, the company said.

Snap-E Cabs is dedicated to developing a diverse and inclusive workforce, transcending gender norms within the traditionally male-dominated field of transportation. This initiative aims to create earning opportunities for individuals of all genders who aspire to work as professional cab drivers.

Snap-E Cabs tied-up with the NPTC Group of Colleges, UK, to implement a training programme under ‘Utkarsh Bangla’, a flagship scheme under the aegis of the Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development. NPTC will bring UK’s expertise in operation and maintenance of electric cabs as well as develop skill-sets of EV drivers for maintaining optimal battery conditions while driving and improve efficiency of overall electric vehicle fleets. This is supported by the UK-India ‘Accelerating Smart Power and Renewable Energy in India’ (ASPIRE) programme, the company said in a media release.

The decision to hire more women drivers is not only a move towards gender inclusivity but also a strategic one. Women drivers are gaining popularity among passengers due to their consistently higher ratings and professional behavior. Passengers appreciate the diverse and welcoming environment that women drivers contribute to the overall ride-hailing experience. The company is actively supporting women making their mark in app cabs running on internal combustion (IC) engines, reflecting a commitment to diversity in vehicle types and technologies, the release added.

Snap E Cabs aims to achieve a significant female representation in its workforce, targeting a range of 30%. This initiative aligns with broader industry efforts to enhance inclusivity and provide more opportunities for women in the transportation sector.

“We believe that diversity is our strength, and by actively encouraging the inclusion of more women drivers, we are not just reshaping our workforce but contributing to a positive change in the industry. Our commitment goes beyond numbers; it’s about creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and can thrive. We are excited about the prospect of empowering more women to join our ranks and make their mark in the world of transportation”, Mayank Bindal, Founder & CEO, Snap E Cabs, said.

Snap E Cabs is dedicated to breaking barriers, fostering diversity, and creating an inclusive environment for both drivers and passengers. The company looks forward to the positive impact that this initiative will have on the ride-hailing industry and is excited to welcome more women into the Snap E Cabs family, the release added.
