Rheinmetall receives major order for several million electric coolant pumps – Charged EVs

German automotive and arms manufacturer Rheinmetall has received an order, valued in the low-three-digit-million-euro range, from an international car manufacturer, for several million electric coolant pumps to be used in hybrid vehicles. Production has started and will continue until 2030; a service contract will run until 2045.

Electric coolant pumps are used in electric and hybrid applications and are available for power levels from 50 to 2,000 W. They contribute to emission control by enabling demand-oriented cooling that reduces power requirements and lowers friction losses and fuel consumption.

Rheinmetall will potentially receive further orders from the customer, which plans to expand the proportion of hybrid or electric vehicles in its portfolio.
