Aciturri invests in Dovetail Electric Aviation – Charged EVs

Spain-headquartered aeronautical component manufacturer Aciturri has committed to acquiring a stake in Australian electric aviation technology company Dovetail Electric Aviation.

Aciturri will invest in the second tranche of Dovetail’s seed investment round, which has a total target of $7 million. The first tranche, which closed last year, included airlines Rex in Australia and Volotea and Air Nostrum in Europe.

Dovetail is targeting 2026 certification of its first battery-electric aircraft as part of its plans to bring a product to market. Work is progressing on the integration of the company’s first hydrogen-electric powertrain with a view toward certification of electric-hydrogen aircraft conversions, designed to extend the range of battery-powered planes.

David Doral, CEO of Dovetail, said, “Aciturri’s involvement brings not only financial support but also significant capabilities that will greatly enhance our technology road map and accelerate our path to market. Their track record and expertise in high-technology aerostructures and engine parts will add immense value to our operations.”
