NACOF Ooorja launches SPV for sustainable farming advancement in India | Autocar Professional

NACOF Ooorja, a prominent Renewable Energy developer backed by NACOF, a multi-state Cooperative Society under the Ministry of Agriculture, has introduced a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named E Astra NACOF Ooorja Pvt Ltd. The SPV aims to advance sustainable farming practices and enhance agricultural profitability in India.

E Astra NACOF Ooorja will serve as NACOF Oorja’s agricultural mobility arm, providing farmers with battery-operated equipment and vehicles tailored to their needs. These offerings include specialized agricultural equipment like the E-Weeder, E-Reaper, E-Brush cutter, and the E-Cargo multi-utility 3-wheeler. Additionally, the SPV introduces a 20-litre Milking Cum Chiller unit designed for sustainable dairy farming.

As part of its strategic initiatives, E Astra has established an Advanced Technology center dedicated to developing a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) that manages all functions of an Electric Vehicle (EV) based on Electric Vehicle Range Extender technology.

The SPV’s agricultural offerings, developed domestically using indigenous technologies, align with the Make in India initiative. NACOF Oorja’s expansion into the agricultural sector is evident, particularly following its recent collaboration with a Nashik-based electric mobility startup focused on improving rural and agricultural mobility in the country.
