Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu invests in drone startup Yali Aerospace – ET Auto


These vertical take-off and landing drones have a range up to 150 km, with a payload of up to seven kg. They fly at the maximum speed of 155 km per hour.

Zoho Corp founder Sridhar Vembu has invested in Thanjavur-based drone-tech startup Yali Aerospace. The investment sum has not been disclosed.

Yali Aerospace, founded by Dinesh Baluraj and his wife Anugraha, has built a fixed wing drone focusing on delivering medicines and organs transportation, surveillance and logistics.

These vertical take-off and landing drones have a range up to 150 km, with a payload of up to seven kg. They fly at the maximum speed of 155 km per hour.

Dinesh, who watched a mother grieving from the accidental deaths of her children, started building drones for improving healthcare facilities in rural India, according to the company’s website.

Announcing his investment on X, Sridhar said the founding couple returned from the Netherlands to their hometown of Thanjavur to start the company.
