ZEEKR expands EU presence by launching in Norway, beginning with two EV models

Tariffs be damned, Chinese EV brand ZEEKR continues to expand its global presence by sharing plans to launch in another European market – Norway. The initial rollout will consist of two of ZEEKR’s flagship models, which will become available to Norwegian customers very soon,

Geely-owned EV marque ZEEKR continues to fulfill its promise to expand to new markets throughout Europe. Initial deliveries of ZEEKR EVs began in Sweden and the Netherlands in December 2023, with several additional EU markets set to follow.

The Chinese automaker’s current European footprint consists of three ZEEKR Centers in Stockholm, Gothenburg in Sweden, and Zeist in the Netherlands. Those showrooms currently sell ZEEKR’s flagship 001 shooting brake, as well as the X SUV.

The relatively young EV automaker has shared bold plans to eventually become a top-three premium brand in Europe, but that will be a tall order given the number of local competitors and recently approved tariffs on Chinese imports.

Nevertheless, ZEEKR continues expanding toward a more notable brand presence overseas, and its next market will be Norway.

ZEEKR to launch X and 001 EVs in Norway this month

According to a press release from ZEEKR this morning, it will launch in Norway this month with the 001 and X EVs mentioned above. The Chinese automaker described Norway as a crucial strategic milestone in its global expansion plans and a natural next step following successful launches in nearby markets. ZEEKR Europe’s chief commercial officer, Lothar Schupet, elaborated:

We’re delighted to be launching our brand in Norway. This is a very important market for us, and our top-notch electric vehicles  will be matched to a first-class customer experience, delivered through our new retailer network – a first for ZEEKR in Europe. Norway is one of the most advanced EV markets in the world, and I can’t wait to see our first EVs on the road here before the end of this year.

Schupet is referring to ZEEKR’s new curated network of EV retailers, which will begin Premium Cars Stor-Oslo this month and be followed by other dealerships in major cities in the future. A network of authorized service centers and workshops will support ZEEKR’s retail partners.

ZEEKR noted that to mark its launch in Norway, it is offering customers 0.99% introductory financing on a new 001 or X EV, which will be available for order later this month. Every ZEEKR vehicle comes standard with a 5-year/100,000 km vehicle warranty, which can be extended for an additional 5-years/100,000 km,

ZEEKR also shared that it is partnering with Plugsurfing, which will give its European customers access to over 800,000 charging points across the continent via the ZEEKR Charge app. Deliveries of the X and 001 EVs are expected to commence in Norway before the end of the year. Learn more here.
