The iQube, priced at LKR 10,99,760 (Rs 304,933), is available for test rides and bookings at TVS Lanka dealerships in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle and Jaffna; buyers can make a downpayment of LKR 110,000 (Rs 30,500) and monthly instalments starting from LKR 27,000 (Rs 7,486).

TVS Motor Company is fast upping the ante on its global footprint with both its IC engine two-wheelers and also electric vehicles. Having launched retail operations and eight products including the iQube and X EVs earlier this month in Italy, the Chennai-based auto major has launched its iQube electric scooter in Sri Lanka. The iQube, which has sold over 300,000 units (including 189,896 units in FY2024) since launch in January 2020, is also sold in Nepal.

TVS Motor Co has a longstanding presence of over two decades in Sri Lanka where it retails its two- and three-wheelers. The company expects a strong market response to the zero-emission product and will leverage TVS Lanka’s well-established aftersales network.

The TVS iQube, which develops peak power of 4.6 KW (equivalent to a 125cc scooter), accelerates from 0-40kph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 78kph. Two lithium-ion battery packs of 3.4 kWh provide a real-world range of 100km on a single charge.

As per the company, the TVS iQube can save LKR 120,000 (Rs 33,272) annually on running expenses. With a 650W carry-along-charger, the EV can be charged from 0-80% in four hours and 30 minutes.

Commenting on the launch, Manu Saxena, senior vice-president, EV Business, TVS Motor Company said, “Launching the TVS iQube in Sri Lanka is an important milestone in the sustainable mobility space. TVS iQube has best-in-class EV and connected technology, resulting in greater performance, comfort, safety and significant annual savings for our customers. We are confident that the TVS iQube, with its unmatched lithium-ion battery and proven track record of over 300,000 satisfied customers globally will redefine electric mobility in Sri Lanka.”

The TVS iQube, priced at LKR 10,99,760 (Rs 304,933), is available for test rides and bookings at TVS Lanka dealerships in Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle and Jaffna and will be offered islandwide soon. TVS is offering the iQube to buyers at a downpayment of LKR 110,000 (Rs 30,500) and affordable monthly instalments starting from LKR 27,000 (Rs 7,486).
