Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar), a leading global provider of automotive technology solutions, said on Tuesday that it has received PLI certification for its second hub wheel motor for electric two-wheelers (E2Ws).
“The company has received certification for its second hub wheel motor for electric two-wheelers under the Production-Linked Incentive (“PLI”) Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry in India (“PLI-Auto”) from the Ministry of Heavy Industries,” the company disclosed in its regulatory filing.
Sona Comstar received its second certificate on 2nd April 2024. The first certificate was issued in February 2024, becoming the first automotive component manufacturer to receive certification under the Auto Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
The company has filed seven applications for different products under the PLI scheme, and it has received the certification for its two products till now. In order to encourage the home manufacture of high-end, cutting-edge automotive technology vehicles and products, the government has launched the Auto PLI Scheme.
