SAR Group’s Sumeet Tandon joins Neolite ZKW Lightings – ET Auto

Sumeet Tandon

New Delhi: After working for exactly a year at the SAR Group, Sumeet Tandon has put in his papers and joined lighting major Neolite ZKW Lightings as Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, as per industry sources.

Neolite ZKW, part of the Neolite Group, has a manufacturing plant in Delhi-NCR and exports to 70 countries. In 2007, Neolite inked a joint venture with Zizala Lichtsysteme (ZKW) Austria and entered into the passenger car segment supplying lamps to General Motors, Skoda and Volkswagen.

ETAuto learns that in his new role Tandon will be taking care of new initiatives, partnerships, tie-ups and work on expanding the customer base for passenger vehicles (PVs) to encash new opportunities in the electric vehicle (EV) space. He will be based in Gurugram and report to the CEO Rajesh Soni.

Last year in April, Tandon joined the SAR Group as the CEO of its powertrain business for EVs– Livguard EV Drivetrain. SAR Group owns companies including Livfast and Mooving and offers energy-related solutions including automotive batteries, inverters, and residential solar panels. It launched the Livguard brand in 2014.

In December last year, Livguard acquired Delhi NCR-based battery swapping and IoT solutions startup Emuron Technologies to venture into the EV battery swapping space. Recently, SAR Group ventured into the e-mobility business with the launch of the Lectrix EV brand.

Before Livguard, Tandon was associated with Tier-I supplier Varroc as the Chief Market Development Officer, where he joined in September 2018 and worked for almost 5 years. At Varroc, he was instrumental in expanding the business, looking after the components for EVs. This was by way of sewing up agreements with Sensata Technologies. This is a global industrial technology company and leading provider of sensor-rich solutions that create insights for customers.

Prior to this, he worked with the Lumax Group as Executive Vice President for more than three years, where he looked after the company’s Corporate Strategy & Business Development.

Tandon completed his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Punjab Engineering College. He did his MBA from Institute of Management and Technology, Ghaziabad.
