Nissan Ariyas are getting Tesla Supercharger access in 2024

Nissan Ariya drivers are getting NACS adapters this year so they can charge at compatible Tesla Superchargers – and Nissan has another big announcement, too.

Access to Tesla Superchargers will, of course, dramatically increase the number of public charging locations available to Nissan Ariya. In 2025, Nissan will begin to offer EVs for the US and Canadian markets with North American Charging Standard (NACS) ports. The automaker doesn’t provide any more details than that at this time.

Nissan‘s other big news today is the launch of its NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, which includes more than 90,000 DC fast chargers in the US on the Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo networks. Nissan says it plans to add additional networks in the future.

The new NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network will allow Nissan Ariya and “future Nissan EV drivers” to use the MyNISSAN app to manage their EV and public charging in one app.

The app will allow drivers to easily find charging stations, see real-time charger availability, and pay for charging (it stores a default payment method). Once drivers arrive at an EV charging station within the NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network, they tap an on-screen button to start a charging session. This new feature will be available to MyNISSAN app users by November 2024.

Bad news, however, for Nissan LEAF drivers: This functionality is not currently available for you, but you can search charging locations through the NissanConnect EV and Services app.

Between Supercharger access and the one-stop-shop app access to all the big-name network chargers, combined with an affordable MSRP of under $40k, will this give the Nissan Ariya a big boost in popularity? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
