Miba Battery Systems unveils new Terra battery system for off-highway and utility vehicles – Charged EVs

Austria-based Miba Battery Systems has introduced its new Terra #11 battery system equipped with 46xx cell technology for off-highway vehicles, construction machinery and utility vehicles.

Terra #11 operates at 650 V, and has a capacity of 42.8 kWh. Its dimensions of 1700 x 700 x 140 mm give manufacturers the flexibility to integrate it into a variety of vehicle models. The integrated Miba Flexcooler system protects the cells from overheating and ensures thermal management in challenging work environments.

Systems can be scaled by interconnecting several packs, while the flat design means that it can be optimally integrated into vehicles such as transporters. The integrated matrix controller enables parallel switching, enabling further flexibility and scalability.

Fire service equipment provider Rosenbauer is using the Terra #11 battery pack in the Panther electric aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) vehicle to increase the battery lifetime.

“The lighter construction in combination with a higher power density substantially improves the vehicle dynamics of special operations vehicles. The higher acceleration and overall performance provide crucial advantages in critical operations,” the company said.
