The brand says that the Victoris is built for new-age customers, and they will be exporting it to over 100 countries from India. What are the powertrain options on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris?

Maruti Suzuki will sell the Victoris with petrol, CNG and a strong hybrid powertrain. To do this efficiently, engineers had to modify the platform so that they could position the CNG tanks under the body, which opens up space in the boot.

The strong hybrid engine that is taken from the Grand Vitara now comes with a lithium-ion battery that is being heavily assembled locally. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine also powers the Victoris; this is the same powertrain that we have been experiencing for quite some time now in other Maruti Suzuki models, and the strong hybrid powertrain is also shared with the Grand Vitara. This unit is compatible with Suzuki’s AllGrip Select AWD system, which will be available on the higher-spec ZXi+ and ZXi+(O) variants.

What are the features of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris?

The Victoris SUV brings a sporty front-end design with an upright hood and sleek LED headlamps connected via a chrome strip running across the nose. It offers two options for the alloys and comes with 10 colours, including two new options: Eternal Blue and Mystic Green. The rear end features full-width LED taillamps and a smart, powered tailgate with gesture control. The taillight shape resembles that of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, but with a more stylish 3D design.

Maruti Suzuki is offering two interior trim options for the new SUV, depending on the variant of choice. The dashboard gets a layered design, and occupants are treated to backlit ambient lighting with 64 colour options. The Victoris features a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment with Alexa integration and more than 35 pre-installed apps. This is enabled for OTA (over-the-air) updates and supports Suzuki Connect with over 60 features. Further creature comforts include a dual-pane sunroof, a PM 2.5 air filter, 8-speaker surround infinity sound with Dolby Atmos. The driver is additionally treated to an 8-way powered and ventilated seat.

On the safety front, the Victoris has received a 5-star rating from the Bharat NCAP crash tests and comes with 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), pedestrian protection systems, and seat belt reminders as standard. The SUV further features a heads-up display, 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS, which Maruti claims is tuned for Indian roads.
