Lamborghini Urus SE launch in first week of August | Autocar Professional

Merely four months after being internationally revealed in April, the Lamborghini Urus SE will be launched in India on August 9 in New Delhi. The SUV is the second model in the Italian manufacturer’s line-up to get hybrid power, and along with that, it also gets interior and exterior styling tweaks.

The Urus SE gets a new bonnet, which extends much more to the front than before, along with a new LED signature and slimmer LED headlamps that now have Matrix technology. The front and rear bumpers and the tailgate section are also new. Internationally, the model is available with 21-, 22- or 23-inch wheels shod in Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Inside the cabin, the dashboard gets new panels and AC vents, but the bigger talking point is the new 12.3-inch central touchscreen that replaces the 10.1-inch unit on previous models. This new larger unit is shared with the Revuelto and runs the latest Lambo software.

The Lamborghini Urus SE gets a hybrid powertrain with a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine mated to a plug-in hybrid system that uses a 25.9kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Along with an electric motor in the 8-speed automatic gearbox, the total system power output stands at 800hp and 950Nm.

Lamborghini claims that the Urus SE can be driven for up to 60km using only electric power. The SUV has an all-wheel-drive system, a claimed 0-100kph time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 312kph.

In 2018, the Urus was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 3 crore, while the Urus Performante and the S came to the country later, priced at Rs 4.22 crore and Rs 4.18 crore, respectively. Expect the SE to be significantly costlier, considering the implementation of hybrid power. The Urus SE will rival other luxury performance SUVs like the BMW XM, Audi RSQ8, Lotus Eletre, Porsche Cayenne GTS and Aston DBX 707.
