In the meantime, Stellantis is advising owners not to charge their vehicles, is fire risk is reduced when the battery is depleted. The automaker is also advising owners to park away from structures and other vehicles for the time being.
Jeep introduced the Wrangler 4xe for the 2020 model year and it soon became the bestselling plug-in hybrid in the U.S. An update for the 2024 model year effectively gave the Wrangler 4xe a price cut by introducing a cheaper base model. A similar plug-in hybrid system, which aims to preserve Jeep’s signature off-road capability, was added to the mid-size Grand Cherokee for 2022. Jeep has confirmed that a Gladiator 4xe pickup will arrive in later 2025.
