In a bid to address pollution from heavy-duty vehicles, Kalyani Powertrain, a subsidiary of Bharat Forge and the Kalyani Group, is strategically positioning itself as a key player in the burgeoning electric vehicle industry.

President and CEO Krishan Kohli discussed their retrofitting business for commercial vehicles, focusing on electrifying existing trucks and buses in the 12-ton and above segment. With investments upwards of Rs 300 crore, Kalyani Powertrain aims to drive adoptions and lead the way in this transformative aspect of the business. While policy decisions on converting existing ICE vehicles to electric vehicles are yet to be determined, Kalyani Powertrain remains committed to pioneering sustainable solutions.
