In a significant move to protect customer interests and maintain the credibility of the Honda brand, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has successfully cracked down on counterfeit engine oil production and distribution in West Bengal. The operation, carried out in collaboration with Kolkata Police and other law enforcement agencies, targeted entities involved in the production and distribution of fake engine oil products.
The covert operation resulted in three successful raids at locations in Kolkata, including Jorasanko, Nilmoni Mitra Street, and Patiatloa Lane. During these raids, more than 8,000 counterfeit products were seized, including lubricants, die-cast components, printing plates, packaging materials, labels, and empty containers.
Counterfeit engine oil poses serious risks to vehicle performance and safety, leading to engine damage, reduced fuel efficiency, and increased emissions. By disrupting the illicit supply chain, HMSI aims to protect its customers from these dangers and emphasise the importance of using genuine engine oil, the company shared.
The company urges consumers to exercise caution and purchase products exclusively from authorised dealers and distributors to ensure the integrity of their vehicles. This proactive move by HMSI not only demonstrates the brand’s dedication to customer safety but also sends a strong message to counterfeiters.
