Gabriel India explores new frontiers with e-bikes and solar dampers, leveraging suspension expertise | Autocar Professional

Gabriel India is exploring previously unexplored applications of e-bikes and solar dampers within its existing expertise in the suspension domain.

Manoj Kolhatkar, MD, Gabriel India, stated in an investor call that his team was in Taiwan for e-bike exploration and for engaging with some experts to help guide them, as the expertise is currently not available in India. “We have developed the product. It has come out well and is appreciated by the customers.”.

Solar dampers, which are the other application being explored, are needed for the solar panel trackers.

“However, in terms of that, getting that translated into revenues for this year is difficult. We are still targeting some very minor sales this year for these two products,” he added.

The efforts by Gabriel come amidst its target to be among the top 5 shock absorber manufacturers in the world by 2025. One of the key strategies it has adopted to reach its targeted aim is the use of innovative technologies; in addition to exports, domestic dominance, and mergers & acquisitions.

Gabriel India, which is the flagship company of the ANAND Group, currently boasts of having 50+ OEM customers, having served 500+ product models. It boasts of selling 2 shock absorbers per second.
