EV Connect adds vehicle-based authentication technology in Hubject partnership – Charged EVs

California-headquartered EV charging platform EV Connect and Berlin-based international charging network Hubject are collaborating to simplify and fully automate the charging process for drivers, charge point operators and e-mobility service providers in the US, Europe and Australia.

This will be done through activation of the ISO 15118-2 standard, on which Hubject’s Plug & Charge feature is based, and integration of the Hubject public key infrastructure (PKI).

Vehicle-based authentication will also be available for select roaming partners for global network coverage and charging through the Hubject intercharge roaming ecosystem.

“By enabling the Hubject PKI, we are adding yet another enhancement to the EV Connect charging infrastructure, providing invaluable business services while ensuring a seamless, hassle-free, and reliable charging experience for EV drivers,” said Dylan Armstrong, Director of Product Management at EV Connect.
