Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD announced on Wednesday that it has secured a conditional testing license for level 3 (L3) autonomous driving on high-speed roads. This marks BYD’s second achievement in this domain, with the company having been granted the first such license in China back in July, as indicated in a statement on its official Weibo account.

Adding to the developments in the autonomous driving space, IM Motors, the electric vehicle brand under the umbrella of state-owned Chinese automaker SAIC Motor, has expressed its intention to apply to China’s industry ministry for the product entry of L3 cars.
