Bolt opens EV charging hub for its rideshare drivers in Stockholm – Charged EVs

Estonia-headquartered shared mobility company Bolt has launched a new EV charging hub in central Stockholm to service its rideshare drivers.

Bolt says the hub’s four chargers are capable of adding 50 km of range in 10 minutes.

Using the Monta app, operated in collaboration with JB Charge, drivers can further save time by accessing the chargers and reserving a charging session while they’re on the road.

A company survey of more than 7,000 of its EV drivers in seven markets found that 90% of them charge daily, 80% say charging affects their earnings time, 70% must rely exclusively on public charging, and 20% spend more than 30 minutes a day just to find and drive to an available public charging point.

“As cities introduce regulated areas, driver feedback points to a mounting issue: lack of access to fast-charging solutions, which leads to time-consuming charging commutes and loss in earnings,” noted Paddy Partridge, Senior VP of Bolt Rides. “Bolt’s first EV charging hub marks an important step in making fast charging more accessible and affordable to our platform’s drivers.”
