Ashok Leyland February sales volumes decline 6% to 16,451 units | Autocar Professional


Chennai-based commercial vehicle (CV) manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, clocked sales of 16,451 units in February 2024, registering a 6 percent year-on-year de-growth (February 2023: 17,578). M&HCVs comprised nearly 65 percent of the company’s total volumes, and their cumulative sales were pegged at 10,744 units (February 2023: 11,767 / -9%).

Within M&HCVs, whereas the M&HCV trucks registered sales of 8,492 units (10,312 / -18%), M&HCV buses saved the blemishes and clocked overall volumes of 2,252 units, registering a substantial 55 percent year-on-year growth over February 2023’s 1,455 units.

Ashok Leyland’s LCV sales, coming primarily from its ‘Dost’ range of vehicles, remained largely flat at 5,707 units (5,801 / -2%). The company also exported a total of 1,638 units last month, registering a 14 percent decline.

The company’s total sales between April 2023 and February 2024 are pegged at 161,513 units (April 2022-February 2023: 158,031), and have registered a 2 percent year-on-year growth.
