1.5 Lakh bus passengers can travel to Ayodhya per day: redBus – ET Auto


Maharashtra has the longest routes to Ayodhya, covering cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, with travel times of approximately 40 hours.

As Ayodhya gets ready for the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple, redBus, an online bus ticketing platform, is actively facilitating the travel of devotees. The platform, offering over 150,000 bus seats daily, provides 339 services per day from various regions, covering both RTCs and private bus operators. Devotees from different parts of the country are availing these services to participate in the historic ceremony, as stated in the released statement by redBus.redBus connects various cities to Ayodhya, including Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Indore, and Patna.

“Currently offering 130 services per day to Ayodhya from these cities, the number is expected to increase to 200 services per day soon,” the company stated.

Top intercity bus routes, by volume include:

  • Delhi – Ayodhya
  • Jaipur – Ayodhya
  • Dehradun – Ayodhya

Top intrastate (Uttar Pradesh) routes include:

  • Varanasi – Ayodhya
  • Lucknow – Ayodhya
  • Prayagraj – Ayodhya
  • Mathura– Ayodhya
  • Agra – Ayodhya

Maharashtra has the longest routes to Ayodhya, covering cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur, with travel times of approximately 40 hours. “Additional buses are being added by both roadway buses (RTCs) as well as private bus operators to cater to the increasing demand and so far about 25 new services have already been added, with many more in the offing,” redBus statement read.

Prakash Sangam, CEO of redBus, while speaking on the demand for travel by bus to Ayodhya, said,“As the market leader in the bus ticketing space which is catering to a very large proportion of travellers to Ayodhya, we are working continuously with UPSRTC and other partner bus operators to facilitate the smooth travel of devotees and making this occasion memorable for them.”
