Republic of India’s Samvardhana Motherson buys Germany’s Dr. Schneider for 2M

BENGALURU — Indian provider Samvardhana Motherson World mentioned it has bought Germany’s Dr. Schneider Workforce via an insolvency procedure for 118.3 million euros ($131.6 million).

Dr. Schneider Workforce, a unit of Dr. Schneider Conserving, manufactures internal parts for automobiles corresponding to panels and lighting fixtures.

The German corporate had filed for insolvency in September 2022 because of “a failed operational and financial restructuring,” Samvardhana Motherson mentioned in a remark, regarding the purchase, which used to be completed via an insolvency procedure. The purchase is predicted to be closed by means of the 3rd quarter of fiscal 2024, the corporate added.

The family-owned corporate is founded in Kronach, akin the German border with the Czech Republic and employs 4,500 folk in seven amenities throughout Germany, Spain, Poland, the U.S., and China, SMIL mentioned.

“We believe we will be able to turn around this business… We see a lot of synergies and untapped potential, especially on the research and development side,” Chairman Vivek Chaand Sehgal mentioned within the remark.
