2025 Toyota Land Cruiser aims off-road for ,900

The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser hybrid SUV arrives at U.S. dealerships in late October with a base price of $57,900.

That price includes a mandatory $1,450 destination charge and applies to the Land Cruiser 1958 grade—one of two available. An unnamed higher-level grade starts at $63,900 with destination, and adds features like heated and ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and 10-speaker audio system.

The Land Cruiser doesn’t see any changes from the 2024 model year, when it returned to the U.S. as a hybrid with a lower price and a smaller footprint than the previous version. Known as the 250 series, the U.S. market version differs from the 300 series Land Cruiser sold in other markets, although it’s based on a derivative of the same TNGA-F body-on-frame platform. That platform is also shared with the Toyota Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia, and 4Runner, as well as the Lexus GX and LX.

Both Land Cruiser grades have a 2.4-liter turbo-4 that works with an electric motor to produce 326 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. The driveline consists of an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard full-time four-wheel drive with a 2-speed electronically shifted transfer case.

EPA fuel-economy ratings will likely carry over from the 2024 model, which was rated at 23 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 25 mpg highway).

Toyota has also hinted at a fully electric Land Cruiser, first with the Compact Cruiser EV concept from 2022, then with the Land Cruiser Se concept the following year. The latter may preview a 3-row electric SUV that Toyota plans to produce in Kentucky starting in 2026.
