Chrysler to recall more than 211,000 vehicles in US due to software malfunction, says NHTSA – ET Auto

The recall specifically impacts certain 2022 Dodge Durango, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500 vehicles manufactured by Stellantis-owned Chrysler, NHTSA confirmed.

Chrysler is recalling over 211,000 vehicles in the United States due to a software glitch that could lead to the disabling of the electronic stability control system, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Saturday.

The malfunction could result in the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module disabling the electronic stability control system, increasing the risk of a potential crash, according to the regulator.

The recall specifically impacts certain 2022 Dodge Durango, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500 vehicles manufactured by Stellantis-owned Chrysler, NHTSA confirmed. To address the issue, dealers will provide a software update for the control module at no cost, NHTSA added.

Chrysler is urging affected vehicle owners to promptly schedule an appointment with their dealers to have the necessary software update installed to ensure the safety and functionality of the electronic stability control system.
