Maruti Suzuki’s CSR initiative, a ‘Cath Lab’ facility at Zydus Sitapur Hospital, completes a year | Autocar Professional


Established with an investment of Rs. 5.6 crore, the hospital offers several advanced clinical facilities such as General Medicine, Orthopedics, Trauma, Gynaecology, Urology, Nephrology and Dialysis.

A state-of-the-art ‘Cath Lab’ facility at Zydus Sitapur Hospital, a CSR initiative of Maruti Suzuki has completed one year of service. The Lab fitted out with an advanced cardiac care facility ensures access to critical tertiary care in the region.

Established with an investment of Rs. 5.6 crore, the Cath Lab is fully funded by Maruti Suzuki under the company’s CSR initiative. The hospital offers several advanced clinical facilities such as General Medicine, Orthopedics, Trauma, Gynaecology, Urology, Nephrology and Dialysis. The Cath lab was introduced in April 2023.

Speaking on the successful completion of first year of the Cath Lab, Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer – Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki India said, “Built with the motivation to make tertiary healthcare accessible to the community around our plant, the company has invested overall Rs 160 crore towards setting up Zydus Sitapur, a multi-specialty 110-bedded hospital. It is an interesting example of how a corporation can make a positive intervention in a hitherto uninhabited place and make it a congenial place for community and employees.”

“Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 that focuses on good health and promotes well-being of people, the launch of the Cath lab underlines our commitment to support local healthcare infrastructure with last-mile access to cardiac treatment in the region. Our efforts have also helped us serve 240 heart patients belonging to low-income groups under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.”

Zydus Sitapur Hospital launched in 2021 is the region’s first multi-specialty hospital. It is funded by Maruti Suzuki under its CSR initiatives. The hospital is managed and operated by Ramanbhai Foundation, an arm of Zydus Group. The hospital reaches more than 15 lakh people from nearby villages.
