Statiq and Cube Stop Wayside Amenities collaborate to promote green mobility on Indian highways | Autocar Professional

Statiq has joined hands with Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas to accelerate the adoption of EVs and bolster EV charging infrastructure across Indian highways.

With India boasting the world’s second-largest road network spanning approximately 63.73 lakh km, the surge in vehicular traffic has led to environmental concerns, particularly regarding carbon emissions. Transitioning to electric vehicles presents an opportunity for India to significantly reduce its environmental impact, as EVs produce zero tailpipe emissions.

As part of this collaboration, Statiq will install advanced EV charging stations at multiple Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas, starting with the flagship location in Anantapur on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway (NH44). These charging stations will cater to various vehicles, including 4-wheelers, trucks, and buses, offering public access to EV charging facilities. By strategically locating these stations along major highways, the partnership aims to alleviate range anxiety and encourage long intercity trips for EV owners.

Statiq has already deployed 7,000 chargers across various Indian cities and plans to scale up to 20,000 EV charging points by 2025.
